Kick-off meeting

The kick off meeting was held in Thessaloniki in March 2019 and has officially started the project! We’ve meet in ten-person group, two representaties by each partner organisation. We made some preparations and first decisions about our future coopration.

Focus groups with target groups

We’re going to create four focus groups per partner, so 20 focus groups in total, which will depend on their experience on voluntarism. Each focus group will have minimum 5 and maximum 7 people involved and they will produce a report on their feelings about volunteers and yourh organizations.

Personal interviews with success stories of volunteers

We’re going to interview three participants per partner, to get to know, how voluntarism helped in their personal and professional development. If they agree, we will also make videos to halp in voluntarism campaign.

Questionnaire

Based on the results of the focus groups and interviews, we are going to create a create a questionnaire, which be adressed to the above target groups. Each partner will  gather a minimum 200 questionnaires.  A report will conclude all the results of all questionnaires gathered by the partnership.

Desk research on the existing European framework on voluntarism

A report will be created with the contribution of all partners. This will be concluded with the good practices report and will help later the policy recommendation paper.

Exchange of good and bad practices between the organizations

There will be 3 local meetings per partner from civil society organizations and voluntary organizations, which are involved in international or local voluntary activities. The results of the meetings and researches will be gathered in a “Need analysis report” which will conclude the results of all the previous activities of the project and will lead to the policy recommendation.

Online and offline campaign

We will use videos of success stories in order to disseminate the importance of volunteering activities and how this experience can change the life of the participant. In addition, we will create infographics that will spread through social media of the organizations and also projects social media. Offline campaign will be with street actions (flash mobs, invisible theater, etc) and will be also documented with video in order to multiply its effects. There will be also competition (which will be online) about video, photos and poster that will motivate young people to participate and workshops based on non formal education in universities, youth centers, etc.

Training courses

We will provide two types of courses: ror Mentors of volunteers – in order to build their capacity to support volunteers, help them to discover their skills and interest and for Coordinators of volunteers – in order to learn techniques which help them to empower the volunteers, manage them but without micromanaging and to motivated them.

Those training courses will use the best practices identified through the previous process and they will have as a goal also to brainstorm for policy recommendations.

Policy recommendation paper

We’ll create a policy recommendation paper based on the good practices identified.

Structured dialogue with the policy recommendation

There will be creater a structured dialogue with policy makers in each country.

Dissemination events

We’ll mount dissemination events in the end of the project to share the results with you. The events will be held in each country.
